Timber Terrain Park
Updated January 30, 2008

The all new Timber Terrain Park is here!

If you were lucky enough to come to TR Friday, Saturday, or Sunday (Jan
25-27), you experienced TR's new professional-quality terrain park! Just
like their brand one-week-old Pumpkin Park, Timber Ridge's new Park Staff
carefully designed and built Timber Terrain Park to bring intermediate park
goers to advanced park goers. Even the pros were able to hone their bag of
tricks without frustration this weekend!

The goods:

Timber Terrain Park is serviced by a high-speed rope so runs will be
frequent and a stop for glove protectors is necessary in the Timber Ridge
Ski Shop! Wait up top at the large drop-in table and carefully plan your
entire run since you are now able to flow through the entire park. Up top
are TR's two blue rails-a kink-to-flat and a battleship. Both rails have
been perfectly set into an enlarged table to allow for spins and tricks off
while not overshooting the landing zone! Then keep rolling right into the
first jump feature. For a big hit-about 38'-don't scrub any speed and you
should have enough air for at least 7, possibly even 9 or 10 if you are pro!
For a smaller hit-about 30' and more of a ride-make a few turns and work on
your 5s. Then, much to your surprise, keep rolling into Timber's second
jump feature! You will need to scrub speed for either take-off, which makes
both of these hits perfect for intermediate to advanced riders to work on
straight airs or 3s or 5s. After that hit, prepare for a slider: both of
Timber's 40+' specialty rails have been set into a 50' long by 70' wide
run-covering-table. Both rails have multiple kinks and launches at the ends
and are set appropriately far from the landing for difficult spins and
tricks off. Finally, Timber is diligently working on their huge 1/4 pipe
and spine feature. It is currently good for lip tricks or transfers over,
but TR's Park Staff will be carefully carving a vert take-off on the far
right side this week!

Come to Timber Ridge and experience the professionally-built
Timber Terrain Park and get interactive with the Park Staff to help them
provide the best park in the Midwest!

Pumpkin Park
Updated January 30, 2008

Pumpkin Park has been built on the long-forgotten Pumpkin Patch run.
Pumpkin Park is perfect for beginners that would just like to go over small
rollers and experts that want to learn new tricks on the rails alike!
Pumpkin Park is serviced by a rope tow, which allows for as many practice
hits as you can stand in an hour. Pumpkin Park was specifically designed by
Timber Ridge's newly organized Park Staff to bring the first time rail
rider, whether on skis or boards, up to the ability level that will allow
them to do new-school tricks and specialty rails!

Here's the skinny:

Ride the rope, but don't try to relax 'cause it's only a 20-second ride to
the top. Then turn left, take a short break and start down the run. First
on your left you have the Whale Tale, an 8-foot high 1/4 pipe, perfect for
jibbing or practicing difficult halfpipe moves. Then you can stop at the
resting table to wait your turn for the rest of the park. After you call
dropping, drop in for the first table, which you can choose one of two
beginner rails. Both are short flat rails, one 6 inches high and the other
18 inches. Then choose your hit on the next table: one of two 14' flat
double pipe rails, one 12 inches high and one 24 inches high. Finally, work
on your specialty rails on the Up-C-Rail. The Park Staff has installed
Timber Ridge's C-Rail in an up configuration that allows for really stylish,
smooth curved rail sliding. Now get off the C-Rail and get your tail back
over to the rope tow!

January 30th update:

Pumpkin Park is going strong! Beginners are loving it, pros are learning new tricks. First-time park goers have been learning what it is like to roll over a gentle knoll, while pros have been working on tricks like switch 270 on, 270 off! As it was the first day, PP is still a hit with excellent conditions!
